La clave Reserva - Freixenet - JWT Barcelona - 2007

by sitemarcavideos (Category: Film & Animation)

The “Key to Reserva”, Fabulous stuff.
Long…but this Spanish cinema ad is where advertising should and WILL (well maybe not shot by Scorsese) be going.
An ad for Freixenet Carta Nevada Reserva sparkling wine…plus an homage to Hitchcock.
If you’re into advertising, Scorsese or Hitchcock it’s well worth the 9 plus minutes.
The creative director Alex Martinez of JWT Barcelona has it right “…it’s not enough now to buy the audience time–we have to create advertising that the audience chooses to spend time with.” That’s the cardinal rule of the new advertising no matter what the delivery system.
In two weeks…I predict huge YouTube viewership numbershttp://www.blogtoplist.com

Sublime & Subliminal: Semantics for Online Advertising

Sublime & Subliminal: Semantics for Online Advertising

by googletechtalks (Category: Science & Technology)

Google Tech TalksAugust 6, 2008ABSTRACTWeb advertising, hasn’t delivered its potential value to advertisers.
This is partcularly true for contextual advertisement.
The main problem is that the marriage of ad and the content of a page is based on algorithms that do not offer satisfactory results in understanding the actual meaning of the content of a web page.
Try the search “stock base” in Google or Yahoo.
You will get many more pages about equities than you do about soup.
Yet the ads placed on these pages are too often not related to the main topic of the article.
Showing an ad about food when the intended use of “stock base” was in the context of equities it’s a mismatch.Expert System now offers a revolutionary solution that automatically processes the meaning of the text to ensure that the ads selected are relevant.
Expert System’s CSA (Cogito Semantic Ad) relies on its Semantic Intelligence technology to analyze text on the page through linguistic analysis and Semantic Comprehension to assure that promotional information can be served more effectively.
Speaker: Marco VaroneFounder, CTO, and Director of the Board of Expert System, Marco is the “father” of the technology behind the Company’s products and a key driver of the Company with his vision and technical skills.
Marco is responsible for the R activities and roadmap in the software and linguistic areas.
Marco holds a degree in Computer Science at the University of Modena with honors.
Speaker: Luca ScagliariniLuca Scaliarini is VP of Strategy and Business Development for Expert System and responsible for the international expansion and strategic alliances.
Prior to joining Expert System, Luca was VP Field Marketing Europe with think3 Inc., and Manager of the Services Product Line at SiteSmith, a managed services provider, where he helped to build the company up to the successful sale to Metromedia Fiber Network.
Luca started his career with Hewlett Packard in product marketing roles in Italy and in the US.
He holds an Electronic Engineering Degree from Politecnico di Milano and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Mr Prokouk : by Karel Zeman : Episode 1

Mr Prokouk : by Karel Zeman : Episode 1

by TheMotionBrigades (Category: Film & Animation)

Karel Zeman (November 3, 1910, Ostroměř near Nová Paka, then Austria-Hungary - April 5, 1989, Prague, then Czechoslovakia) was a Czech animator and filmmaker.
He is considered the co-founder of the Czech animated film.He started to be interested in puppet theatre while studying at business school.
Soon after, he decided to study at the Art School of Advertising in France, and after graduating he took a job with an advertising studio in Marseilles.
His first experience with animated film was making an ad for soup.
When he returned home he continued working in advertising, now for big Czech firms Bata and Tatra.
Zeman showed a sample of his work to the filmmaker Elmar Klos, and was offered a job at the animation studio in Zlín.
He accepted the job in 1943.
Once there, he met animator Hermína Týrlová, who had just finished animating the all-time children’s favorite Ferda Mravenec (Ferda the Ant, based on a story by Ondřej Sekora).
Together, Zeman and Týrlova made the animated film Vánoční sen (Christmas Dream) and won the award for Best Animation at the 1946 festival in Cannes.
Zeman was well on his way to becoming a world-renowned animator. The first project Zeman did on his own was a popular series of short films about a character named Mr.
Prokouk.
These humorous stories revolved around the problems of everyday life: Mr.
Prokouk at the Office, Mr.
Prokouk the Inventor, and so on.
Zeman’s first longer film was Král Lávra (King Lavra, based on a poem by Karel Havlíček Borovský), which earned him a National Award in 1950.
In 1955 Zeman made his first film combining live actors, animation, and special effects— Cesta do pravěku (Journey to Prehistory), a work that stunned the world.
Four years later, he released his masterpiece Vynález zkázy (The Fabulous World of Jules Verne), opening a new world of possibilities that he explored in his other adaptations of Jules Verne novels — Ukradena vzducholod (Stolen Airship) and Na kometě (Off on the Comet) - and classic stories such as Baron Prášil (Baron Munchhausen), Bláznova kronika (The Jester’s Tale), and many more.
Zeman used sets painted in the style of Victorian illustrations (mainly engravings by Gustave Dore), and then had live actors wandering through animated settings.
The great success of these science fiction and fantasy features is a tribute to Zeman’s sense of humor and storytelling abilities, as well as his technique and originality.
Though most of Zeman’s films are meant for children, they possess a sophisticated wit and visual style that enchants adults as well. His most unusual film remains the short Inspiration (1949).
Here Zeman employed an astonishing technique, using series of glass figurines to produce remarkably smooth animation with an exquisite sense of timing, movement, and narrative structure.Another of Zeman’s feature-length animated films, Pohádky tisíce a jedné noci (Tales of One Thousand and One Nights), consists of seven short stories about Sinbad the sailor.
Later, in Krabat, čarodějův učeň (Krabat - The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, 1975), and the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tale O Honzíkovi a Mařence (Hansel and Gretel, 1980), he returned to classical forms of animation. He died before the Velvet Revolution in Prague.

Net Neutrality - PBS NOW Part 1/2

Net Neutrality - PBS NOW Part 1/2

by stephenjudge (Category: Howto & Style)

Is the wild west culture of the Internet about to become a thing of the past? Big business is staking its claim on the information superhighway, lobbying Congress for an exclusive faster lane, which consumers could end up paying for.
This week on NOW we look at a major battle brewing in Washington D.C.
over the future of the Internet. We follow the story of Blip.tv, an ambitious video-streaming startup.
They’re fighting for a corner of the Internet marketplace in the midst of a battle over so-called ‘net neutrality’ — the idea that all Internet content and websites are given the same access to audiences and customers. If telecommunication giants have their way, companies like Blip.tv might be forced to compete in a marketplace wherein firms with large coffers can buy access to greater bandwidth and faster Internet speeds, leaving sites who can’t afford to pay in the slow lane.Craig Aaron of Free Press, a media watchdog group, says big telecom companies have declared open season on ‘Net neutrality.’ He’s afraid these companies will dictate how we use the Internet.”I think one of the beauties of the Internet is that it’s been open to views across the political spectrum.
And if you hand the control of the information so that some can be preferred over others, you’re going to be handing that control to the big media companies that already control our television, airwaves, radio, you name it,” Aaron says. For their part, telecom companies argue that a fast lane on the Internet for those willing to pay will allow them to make a return on their multibillion-dollar investment in broadband infrastructure.
At present, companies such as Verizon and AT&T only charge for access to the Internet, but make virtually no money from content.”It’s just, by the way, the same reason why we take 18 wheeler semi-trailers and make them pay more in federal highway taxes than someone who drives their family in a mini-van: because they are putting more load on the infrastructure and therefore should pay a higher rate,” says Mike McCurry, head of Hands Off the Internet. His group, backed by a number of telecom companies, says that many web companies are making billions off the Internet but are not willing to pitch in to upgrade its infrastructure.
The telecom companies have launched an aggressive, multi-million dollar advertising campaign against web giants such as Google and Amazon arguing “they don’t want to pay for anything.”Those who support net neutrality — including a broad coalition of consumer groups, higher education organizations, special interests, and Internet companies — say the telecoms just want to increase their profits.
They fear that the proposed two-tiered Internet would kill a democratic marketplace wherein small businesses compete on an equal footing with giants of commerce.

Pub Think MTV Holocaust metro

Pub Think MTV Holocaust metro

by uruk (Category: News & Politics)

Someone put a lot of money into that.
Yes we’d like to assume its for the peoples best interest. Now that we know it takes a lot of money, then realize we need an OK from the network. And thats even harder now a days, after fines and breasts hanging out via pop stars.Who would MTV have to ask? The same people putting out such conditioning as Jericho.
(And CBS)Viacom. With the pending North American Union, the push to embrace hispanics, and the new word from the top to change advertising to accomidate indoctrination, do you think the vehicle that has spent over 2 decades brainwashing kids, the same people that brought us ganster rap, is interested in warning us? I remember dozens of the “Tolerance” ads throughout the 90sThe Old Navy ads. That it was non stop. Now there is a resurgence of “The Holocaust” never happened, and an Anti Israel flavor around….(And in NY where MTV is.)Might there not be something else here? To even equate thinking there is something wrong with Muslim, Jewish and a hefty look at it being almost Apocalyptic to have any anger towards others at this time?Remember what we know about all of MSM.
How we have watched them shape the news and ‘elections’Enter left MTV and very high and in the triple thousands to make these videos.
If they were concerned about this, I think they’d actually dedicate a show.
I know Canada said something about Loose Change once but, was it just once? and was it an expensive commercial (OR SEVERAL?)Unless, we do have that mysterious billionaire????As the now sell out Dennis Miller says “its just my opinion, I could be wrong’And I hope I am….But………its up to us people, just us.
Lets take advantage of the Ron Paul meetups to springboard our Revolution for LIberty.
